Volunteer Stories

Words From the People Who Show Up

“I started at the Food Pantry not knowing what to expect. Now every third Wednesday feels like a reunion with family. The gratitude on people’s faces keeps me coming back every single month.”

“Teaching English here changed my understanding of community. My students work so hard — they inspire me far more than I inspire them. This is the most meaningful thing I do with my week.”
ESL Teacher Volunteer · 6 years
“I brought my daughter to sort clothing donations one Saturday. She is now a regular volunteer. Watching her understand the value of giving has been the greatest gift this place ever gave our family.”
